FoodFindr
College is hard, and it becomes even harder when you're broke and hungry. With FoodFindr, we aim to make the hunt for FREE food easy and fun, and help you find some interesting events around your college campus. FoodFindr allows you to use your current location, or select the college you attend, to bring up a map of where free food can be found around campus
Create.
Creating a shared network of students all hoping to find a quick and free meal on their college campus was a no-brainer, and we wanted to make sharing those “finds” with other users just as easy and intuitive.
Onboard.
Onboarding needed to be simple, and fast. When the goal is for an app to easily integrate into a user’s daily life, it needs to be able to be there when the user wants, and easily fade into the background when they don’t.
Find & Share.
Technology often creates dark patterns of habit and usage for their users, so we wanted to make sure that our app focused on the exact opposite: reinforcing community-forming behaviors. There is truth behind the idea of sharing a meal with others having the ability to build bonds, and this app can help facilitate that.
Personalize.
With FoodFindr’s clean and simple aesthetic, it is infinitely possible to update features, or allow for paid aesthetic changes like a small fee to change the color palette to your school colors.

By categorizing FoodFindr as a “Lifestyle” app, it sells that FoodFindr is first and foremost about building community. FoodFindr is meant to be just as much a part of the college experience as cramming for finals.
